Q:  What is Travertine Tile?
A:  Travertine is a stone formed in areas in which percolating water bobbled through the sedimentary deposit.  This bubbling dynamic in the formation of this type of stone caused travertine to have holes throughout their structure.  When travertine tiles are produced, the factory can either fill the holes or leave them open.  Filled travertine tiles are filled with a cement like filler that is squeezed into the opened holes.  After this filling process the face of the stone is honed.  Travertine stones are very hard and durable.  They can be used for interior and exterior applications, residential and commercial.
